This is my favorite Caddoan design from Spiro. The twin snake dancers. It is an engraving on the bottom of a conch shell cup. Notice the rattle snake tails coming off the dancers backs. They are dancing over a coiled rattle snake with horns. The round things under their ears are copper or wood ear spools. Ear spools are like big earrings. They are wearing fancy headdresses with feathers and beads. Are these pictures of real dancers in costumes or are these imaginary mythological dancers?
